BYU Combat Robotics hosts a competition for students and alumni every year, in which we are tasked with designing and building a small (<1lb) robot to compete in an end of semester competition.
I lead my team in designing our robot, using a small but powerful brushless motor for our weapon, to get maximum damage potential, and two limitless servos to provide our movement. Since the weight limit is so low, I opted to use servos to reduce the weight requirements, at the expense of some movement speed.
